Shipping update and final delivery!
over 4 years ago – Mon, Sep 02, 2019 at 08:54:49 PM

Hello Backers!

If you missed our recent comment we posted, we wanted to share a quick update regarding shipping. Long story short, the time to package and ship the Sketchmarks to us took longer than expected. However, we finally have a date for when the Sketchmarks arrive and will be ready to ship, Next Monday 9/9. Knowing that we will receive the Sketchmarks by next week, we can confirm all orders will be shipped out before the end of next week, including international orders and pre-orders. All addresses have been locked, however please send us a direct message if you need to change your address.

Keep reading below for a few updates from the last few weeks...

Packaging Update

In our last update, we mentioned all that was left to do was package the Sketchmarks. We anticipated this would be a much quicker process, however the changes we made to the packaging early in the campaign added a few extra days to guarantee we would not have similar issues to last time. As you may remember, there were issues regarding the double-sided tape holding the cards in place. We replaced the tape with a thin layer of cardboard with a cutout to hold the card. Not only does this ensure the cards will not bend or break from the adhesive during removal, it also adds an extra layer of protection during shipping. Below are a few photos of the final packaged units!

Shipping from the Manufacturer

After we confirmed the quality report from the packaging, we released the Sketchmarks to be shipped to us. The Sketchmarks were flown from the manufacturer to LAX airport in Los Angeles. They arrived at LAX in the middle of last week, however due to delays in customs, the Sketchmarks did not get released for delivery before the holiday weekend began. Unfortunately, that delay pushed the Fedex delivery window back as well. With us being located in the Midwest, we are about 4 days delivery from LA. The Sketchmarks are ready to hit the Fedex system from our shipper as soon as it opens up tomorrow. However, the holiday today pushes the delivery to early next week as mentioned above.

Shipping Prep

We have already begun our shipping prep and have been patiently waiting for the Sketchmarks to arrive. All orders have already been placed in batches based on package contents to make the process quick and efficient. We will begin printing shipping labels this week and placing them on the envelopes before the Sketchmarks arrive. If you receive a notification with a tracking number, please allow a few days for the package to begin tracking.

----

We apologize for the delay and assure you we are just as anxious to receive the Sketchmarks as you are! Although we wish we would have made our original August timeline, we are very happy with the improvements we made to the Sketchmarks and hope you are too. We believe the extra 2 weeks will be worth it in the end and can't wait to see what you are able to create with your Sketchmarks.

As always, please send us a direct message with any questions you may have!

New Packaging, new material and 28 hours to go!
almost 5 years ago – Tue, Jul 16, 2019 at 06:28:11 PM

Backers,

Before our campaign ends, we wanted to send one quick update about a few changes we have made to Sketchmark! After receiving feedback from our first campaign, we made two improvements to Sketchmark that will be used for this campaign.

1. Pacakaging Adhesive

Many backers had issues with the adhesive used to hold the cards into the packaging. We are happy to say we have eliminated this double sided adhesive, and also added an extra layer of protection for the cards. This should make the cards easier to remove from their packaging and also help protect the cards in transit. While new backers will not notice this change, we hope our original backers appreciate the improvement!

2. Material Upgrade

We have improved the durability of Sketchmark by switching from aluminum to stainless steel. Overall, the cards will look identical to the videos and images of our campaign (and the original cards.) However, they will have an increased durability and weight. Stainless Steel will make the cards nearly twice as heavy to create a much more durable feel. The steel will also make the cards more bend-resistant, hopefully increasing their lifespan. Below are two photos showing the weight difference between aluminum (first) and stainless steel (second).

All bullet journal cards will be made with stainless steel. Original Sketchmarks can be purchased as add-ons in stainless steel or aluminum. You will have the option to select any add-ons once surveys are sent through Backerkit.

That's all for now! 28 hours to go before our campaign is finished!
